Sausalito voters will
elect three members to the City Council at a
general election on November 5, 2024. Elected individuals will serve terms that begin in December 2024 and end in December 2028.
The nomination period for candidates opens Monday, July 15 and closes on Friday, August 9. To be eligible, a candidate must be a registered voter living within Sausalito city limits.
Candidates must also follow these steps to qualify for the ballot:
- Request nomination papers. Nomination papers are available by appointment from the Office of the City Clerk at 420 Litho Street. To make an appointment, please contact City Clerk Walfred Solorzano at wsolorzano@sausalito.gov or (415) 289-4165.
- Fill out nomination papers. In order to qualify, candidates must gather the signatures of not less than twenty nor more than thirty registered voters in Sausalito.
- File nomination papers. Nomination papers must be filed by 5:00 p.m. on August 9. As required by law, the Office of the City Clerk will remain open until 5:00 p.m. on the last day of filing.
The incumbents for the election are Melissa Blaustein, Janelle Kellman, and Ian Sobieski. If at least one of the three incumbents has not filed by 5:00 p.m. on August 9, the nomination period will be extended to Wednesday, August 14 for non-incumbents only.
