The filing deadline for non-incumbent candidates for the Sausalito City Council has been extended to 5:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 14 because one of the three incumbents did not file for reelection.
The following candidates filed on or before August 9 and will appear on the ballot for the
General Municipal Election on November 5, 2024.
- Ian Sobieski (incumbent)
- Melissa Blaustein (incumbent)
- Steven Woodside
To qualify as an additional candidate within the extended filing period, you must be a registered voter living within Sausalito city limits and follow these three steps:
- Request nomination papers. Nomination papers are available by appointment from the Office of the City Clerk at 420 Litho Street. To make an appointment, please contact City Clerk Walfred Solorzano at wsolorzano@sausalito.gov or (415) 289-4165.
- Fill out nomination papers. In order to qualify, candidates must gather the signatures of not less than twenty nor more than thirty registered voters in Sausalito.
- File nomination papers. Nomination papers must be filed by 5:00 p.m. on August 14. As required by law, the Office of the City Clerk will remain open until 5:00 p.m.
