The
Public Works Department hosted a public meeting on January 30 about possible safety improvements along Bridgeway
between Napa and Johnson streets, a stretch of road parallel to the Caledonia Street commercial district.
Safety improvement options covered in the presentation by the City's traffic consultant included improving the pavement markings, reducing the number of crosswalks, adding refuge islands, and installing "bulb-outs" at corners to make pedestrians waiting to cross more visible.
Those interested in improvements to that stretch of Bridgeway who were unable to attend the meeting are encouraged to watch the 60-minute
video recording of the presentation and Q&A.
Comments and questions about the prospective project can be directed to Project Manager Ali Iqbal at aiqbal@sausalito.gov. Feedback received from the public will help inform a draft project plan to be presented to the City Council for approval later in 2025.
