Evacuation Drill on June 28 for Rodeo North Area

On Saturday, June 28, Southern Marin Fire District and the Sausalito Police Department will conduct a voluntary evacuation for zone SAU-E009, commonly Known as "Rodeo North," located:
  • North of Nevada Street, Redwood Highway, Lincoln Drive
  • South of Redwood Highway, Sausalito Dirt Parking Lot
  • East of Redwood Highway
  • West of Bridgeway

On the morning of Saturday, June 28, participants will hear official drill notifications via emergency systems such as Alert Marin, Nixle, LRAD (Long Range Acoustic Device), and police Hi-Lo Sirens, all tools used in real-life scenarios. Participants will then gather at MLK Park at 11:00 a.m. sharp to participate in the drill and meet with local public safety staff. Residents from other evacuation zones are also welcome to gather and ask questions. This event will benefit all residents and boost emergency preparedness.

To Participate in the evacuation drill on Saturday, June 28, follow these steps: ⁠ Community evacuation drills prepare residents to stay safe during emergencies and natural disasters, test and improve local evacuation routes, and strengthen coordination with emergency responders. Community drills also support faster, safer responses during real emergencies. 

To prepare for real emergencies requiring evacuations:
  • Pack a go bag for each family member and pet.
  • Keep your vehicles at least half full and parked facing the evacuation route.
  • Learn your evacuation zone and multiple exit options.
  • Learn additional safety tips on Southern Marin Fire's website.
