You might notice something new at Dunphy Park this weekend! The Sausalito Public Library is proud to announce the installation of our first ever Storywalk in Dunphy Park. In collaboration with the Department of Public Works and Department of Parks and Recreation, the Library presents a page-by-page, self-guidedgallery walk of the picture book Boats on the Bay by local author Jeanne Walker Harvey, with pictures by Grady McFerrin. The story takes us on a tour of many different boats that work and play on our Bay, beginning and ending on a cozy houseboat. Every page stop asks an interactive question of the reader based on the image and text.
"I am just thrilled to bring engaging children's literature into our parks, where Sausalitans and visitors can combine the joy of family reading with immersion in our landscape and community," Children's Librarian Riva Pollard said."Jeanne Walker Harvey and Grady McFerrin have given Bay Area readers of all ages a real treat with this special book."
Head over to Dunphy Park and enjoy the Storywalk through August. Follow the Library on Instagram to stay up-to-date on Library happenings and find our full calendar at sausalitolibrary.org. Questions and inquiries regarding the Storywalk can be directed to Riva Pollard at rpollard@sausalito.gov.
