At the City Council Meeting on Tuesday, August 5, the Council upheld the Planning Commission's decision to approve a new joint hotel and restaurant use in the historic building at 715 Bridgeway. The building was constructed in 1924 for the Bank of Sausalito and later became a Wells Fargo Bank, which remained in operation at this location until July 12, 2023.
The project proposal is an adaptive reuse of the existing historic resource that will see the site go from a bank to a fine dining restaurant and three-room boutique hotel called “Inn the Pocket." This will be the second Pocket location after the owner, Kent Ipsen, successfully launched this concept in Carmel-by-the Sea in 2020.
