Have you walked along Tracy Way and the newly expanded ferry plaza recently? You have likely noticed a fresh splash of style — sleek, modern dark and light blue benches, tables, and planter pots now adorn Sausalito’s waterfront. Enjoy the comfortable chairs and tables while eating an ice cream, cooling down from a summer walk, or relaxing and soaking in the views and sea breeze.
The planter pots are from Bay Area’s Tournesol Siteworks, and the furniture is crafted by VESTRE Furniture, the first outdoor furniture maker nationally to use fossil-free steel and consistently incorporate recycled, eco-friendly materials. These pieces are the final thoughtfully selected elements of the City’s Ferry Landside Improvement Project, funded through grants and City resources to add to the lure, vibrancy, and comfort of Sausalito’s lively waterfront.
A special thanks to the City Department of Public works maintenance staff, volunteers from Sausalito Beautiful, and the local office of SWA who came out to help plant the planters. Department of Public Works maintenance staff have spent many hours assembling the furniture for our community and visitors to enjoy.
