Tasting wristbands are available for the 46th Annual Chili Cook-Off on Saturday, September 20. The event runs from noon to 4:00 p.m. and features live music This year's theme is "Hollywood."
For the early-bird price of $25 for a tasting wristband, attendees will get all the chili they can eat and the opportunity to vote in the People's Choice Award. All tasting cups and spoons will be compostable. Beer, wine, and margaritas will be available for purchase. Bring a water bottle to fill up at one of the water stations in the park.
Just a couple of spots are still available for those brave enough to sign up for the Hot Pepper Eating Contest. Participants will eat peppers of gradually increasing spiciness, according to the Scoville Scale. Those who successfully swallow the entire pepper move on to the next round, while those who fail are eliminated. The final contestants will compete to eat the spiciest pepper in the shortest time. Winners will earn a prize!
