The City of Sausalito is supportive of all businesses in Sausalito.  This statement is to provide additional information to our residents on the closure of the Trident Restaurant:

The landlord and building owner, 558 Bridgeway Real Property LLC, own three parcels at 558 Bridgeway, including the Trident Ondine View Restaurants LLC, which operates the Trident Restaurant. To be clear, the city has had no direct contractual relationship with the Trident restaurant's management and has had no involvement in the Trident restaurant's operations or closure.

For the past two years, the building owner has not paid the rent in full.  To attempt to remedy this, over this period, the City has had several conversations with 558 Bridgeway Real Property LLC to try to negotiate a solution. No solution has been reached yet. The City and the building owner - 558 Bridgeway Real Property LLC - continue to negotiate regarding the leases for the two parcels leased from the City, and repayment of past-due rent from 558 Bridgeway Real Property LLC.  Independent of these discussions, the City was informed that the operators of Trident decided to close the restaurant.
