Beginning Monday, May 4, the City will install new parking pay stations in municipal parking lots. The transition period will take about a week to complete. As part of this upgrade, the Resident Parking Passcard Program is being modernized to make it easier and more convenient to use.
What’s staying the same? Program benefits are not changing. Eligible residents will continue to receive up to three hours of free parking daily in participating municipal lots. The City Council supported this on April 21, 2026.
What’s changing? How residents access and activate those benefits. We're moving to a cardless system. With the new pay stations, physical Resident Parking Passcards will no longer be compatible, and the City will no longer issue them. Instead, residents will access their parking benefits through a simple, cardless system using either:
- Parking pay stations (via a six-digit PIN issued by the Sausalito Parking Authority).
Learn more: Visit the City's website to learn more about the new cardless system and how it works. You can also watch an instructional video for step-by-step guidance on setting up and using the ParkMobile app.
Questions? If you need assistance with the transition or setting up the ParkMobile app, please contact the Sausalito Parking Authority parking@sausalito.gov or (415) 289-4116.
