Southern Marin Fire District (SMFD) is contributing personnel and wildland firefighting expertise to the multiagency response to Washington’s Little Giant Fire, which had burned more than 122,000 acres as of August 12. SMFD Battalion Chief Adam Vollmer is serving as a Task Force Leader, coordinating assigned resources and tactical operations.
The assignment allows SMFD to share its operational leadership and specialized wildland firefighting expertise with local, state and federal partners managing this complex incident.
