Post Date:08/13/2026A suspect was apprehended Thursday morning after eluding a Marin County Sheriff's Deputy and fleeing into a Sausalito neighborhood. A shelter-in-place order was issued for nearby residential areas at approximately 7 a.m.
The incident began during a traffic stop on U.S. 101 when the suspect fled from the deputy and drove the wrong way on the freeway before abandoning his vehicle near Rodeo Avenue. Sausalito Police officers and Marin County Sheriff’s deputies then searched several areas of Sausalito.
At approximately 8:50 a.m., the suspect was located hiding near Santa Rosa Avenue and apprehended. The suspect was booked on multiple outstanding warrants and additional charges related to fleeing from deputies.
The shelter-in-place order was canceled following the suspect's arrest. Additional details will be released by Marin County Sheriff's Office.
