In the early morning hours of Saturday, August 15, 2026, Sausalito Police officers responded to a report of an altercation in the 2900 block of Bridgeway. According to the reporting party, a confrontation occurred involving other individuals, during which a firearm was displayed and a shot was fired, though no one was injured. The suspects fled the area in a vehicle.

Responding officers located a vehicle matching the description shortly afterward and conducted a traffic stop. The occupants were detained, and a subsequent search led to the recovery of a loaded firearm inside the vehicle. A male juvenile and a female adult were arrested on weapons-related charges.

Suspect Information: The male juvenile was 17 years old; per department policy, his name cannot be released. The female adult was 19 years old. Both individuals are from the Reno, Nevada area.

Charges: Based on information obtained at this point, the Marin County District Attorney's Office has been requested to file the following charges against the adult:

· 25400(a)(1) PC – Carrying a Concealed Firearm Within a Vehicle

· 32310 PC – Possession of a Large-Capacity Magazine

· 182 PC – Conspiracy

· 272 PC – Contributing to the Delinquency of a Minor

· 27505(a) PC – Furnishing a Firearm to a Person Under 21 Years of Age

· 26100(a) PC – Driver/Owner Knowingly Permitting a Firearm to Be Carried or Brought Into a Vehicle

The juvenile has been charged, through the juvenile justice system, with multiple weapons-related offenses, including carrying a concealed and loaded firearm, brandishing a firearm, and unlawful possession of a firearm and ammunition by a minor.

Additional charges are being reviewed as evidence is collected.

Motive: At this time, we have limited information on the motive beyond the initial report. The investigation remains active, and we will provide updates as more information becomes available.

The investigation into this incident remains active and ongoing. At this time, the incident appears to be isolated in nature, and there is no indication of an ongoing threat to public safety. We have confirmed that at least one shot was fired during the incident, but no injuries were reported, and all suspects are accounted for.
