Councilmember Ray Withy was elected to his second four-year term on the City Council in November 2016 and is currently serving as Councilmember. Ray served as Sausalito's Mayor in 2014 and 2017 and Vice Mayor in 2016. Ray serves on the General Plan Advisory Committee. He also serves as the City Council's liaison to the Business Advisory Committee and the Hospitality Business Development Advisory Committee.
Ray currently represents the Sausalito City Council on the Board of Directors of Marin Clean Energy, serves as the Vice President of the Marin County Council of Mayors and Councilmembers (MCCMC), on the Legislative Committee and Ad Hoc Pension/Open Reform Committee of MCCMC and the Transportation Authority of Marin Board. He also represents the Marin County Council of Mayors and Council Members on the Executive Board of the League of California Cities, North Bay Division. In the past, Ray served as the City Council’s liaison to the Sustainability Commission and the Marinship Specific Plan Steering Committee. He was also a member of the Housing Element Task Force.
Ray has lived in Sausalito for over 15 years and, professionally, has worked in the biotechnology industry for over thirty years in the research, development and commercialization of new medicines to treat life-threatening diseases.
