Measure X - Arts, Industrial & Maritime Preservation and Improvement Initiative (AIM Initiative)

• On July 07, 2026, the City Clerk certified that the initiative petition for the Arts, Industrial & Maritime Preservation and Improvement Initiative ("AIM Initiative") qualified for the ballot.
• Marin County Registrar of Voters certified on May 29, 2026 that signature verification on the petition was complete pursuant to Elections Code §9114: of 860 raw signatures submitted (against a requirement of 558), a random sample of 500 was checked, with 493 found valid. • The AIM Initiative will appear on the November 3, 2026 General Municipal Election ballot, as required by Elections Code Section 9215.

 AIM Ballot Question:

• Shall the measure named the "Arts, Industrial & Maritime Preservation and Improvement Initiative," which revises zoning standards in the I and W zoning districts to increase permitted height, building coverage limits and floor area ratio and allow certain new land uses; repeals the Marinship Specific Plan; revises Ordinance No. 1022 to allow future city council modifications to zoning outside the Downtown Historic District; and modifies various portions of the Sausalito General Plan, be adopted? 

Correction Notice*

• The June 16, 2026 agenda packet mistakenly included an earlier, withdrawn draft of the measure rather than the final version that was circulated for signature-gathering and used to prepare the City Attorney's title and summary. This was a clerical error in assembling the packet and did not affect the County's signature verification, which was based on the correct, final version of the measure throughout.
• To correct the record, the City Council rescinded Resolution 30-2026 on July 7, 2026, and adopted Resolution 33-2026, which submits the correct, final version of the AIM Initiative to voters at the November 3, 2026 election.
