  • Open House on June 17 to Review Proposals for Fort Baker

    The National Park Service has received five proposals from prospective commercial partners interested in rehabilitating the boat shop and marina complex at Fort Baker, which consists of an 8,200-square foot main building, three smaller outbuildings, a deck, and a guest dock.

  • Trail Closures in Marin Headlands Begin Saturday, June 7

    On Saturday, June 7, in collaboration with PG&E, the Golden Gate National Recreation Area (GGNRA) will close a series of trails and fire roads in and around the Alta Fire Road, Rodeo Valley Fire Road, Oakwood Valley Trail, and Bobcat Trail.

  • Voluntary Evacuation Drill Scheduled for July 27

    On Saturday, July 27, the Southern Marin Fire Protection District will conduct a voluntary emergency evacuation drill for Sausalito neighborhoods north of Marin Avenue and west of Bridgeway. The houseboat communities to the north of Sausalito will also be included in the drill.

  • Fire Breaks Planned for Cypress Ridge Open Space

    Fuel reduction at Cypress Ridge will take place in two phases. The first phase will begin during the week of June 10 and includes cutting annual grasses and scotch broom to create a 100' fire break between the open space and surrounding homes.

  • Cleanup from February 14 Mudslide Likely to Begin in Late July, Significant Impacts Expected

    Clean up of debris from the February 14 mudslide in Sausalito's Hurricane Gulch neighborhood is expected to begin in late July 2019, according to an update presented to the City Council on May 28.
