  • How to Participate in the July 7 Community Forum on Racial Justice

    The City Council will hold a special forum at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday, July 7 to begin a community discussion about ways that Sausalito can promote racial justice and work to overcome the toxic legacy of racism. The event will be held virtually on Zoom and broadcast live on the City website.

  • Indoor Restaurant Dining Halted Due to COVID-19

    After being added to the State of California’s watchlist on Friday, July 3, Marin County’s COVID-19 numbers did not improve. Effective 11:59 p.m. Sunday, July 5, indoor dining will not be allowed for a minimum of three weeks in Marin because of the ongoing public health emergency.

  • Marin County Placed on Watch List for Increased COVID-19 Activity

    Governor Gavin Newsom has added Marin County to a monitoring list of California counties that are being closely watched for increased COVID-19 activity.

  • Update on Business Reopenings in Marin County

    Since early May, Marin County Public Health has been gradually relaxing Marin's shelter-in-place order. That process received its first setback on Friday, June 26, when the county decided to postpone the reopening of some of the business sectors that had been scheduled to resume on June 29.

  • High Winds Delay Opening of On-Street Dining on Caledonia Street

    High winds have delayed the scheduled opening of on-street dining on the block of Caledonia Street between Pine and Johnson streets. Weather permitting, on-street service will get underway on Thursday, July 2.

  • County Postpones Some Reopenings Due to COVID-19 Increase

    Due to elevated COVID-19 cases and hospitalization rates, Marin County Public Health has decided to postpone the reopening of some of the businesses and activities that had been slated to resume on Monday, June 29.

  • City Receives Feedback on Draft General Plan at June 20 Workshop

    More than 80 people participated in a June 20 virtual workshop on the Public Review Draft of the City's updated General Plan. The primary purpose of the workshop was to give Sausalito residents an opportunity to comment on the draft document.

  • City Council to Consider 2020-21 Budget, Emergency Generators at June 23 Meeting

    The City budget for fiscal year 2020-21 and emergency backup power sources will be the public hearing items at the City Council meeting on Tuesday, June 23. The meeting is being held virtually on Zoom, with the open session of the meeting scheduled to begin at 7:00 p.m.

  • COVID-19 Testing in the City Hall Parking Lot on June 25 and 26

    Update: According to Carbon Health, as of Monday, June 22 all appointments have been booked for June 25 and 26. We will work with them to secure additional dates. Appointments sometimes open up due to cancellations.

  • Outdoor Dining and Vending Agreements

    As of Friday, June 19, the City of Sausalito has approved temporary encroachment agreements with 22 Sausalito businesses to provide new or expanded outdoor dining or vending spaces. Five local businesses have pending applications.

  • On-Street Dining on Caledonia Street Delayed

    On-street dining on the block of Caledonia Street between Pine and Johnson streets has been delayed until the participating restaurants are able to obtain proper licensing from the California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control (ABC).

  • General Plan Survey and June 20 Workshop

    The City of Sausalito's multi-year effort to update the City's General Plan is entering the final stages, with the City Council scheduled to consider adoption in October 2020. If you haven't yet been involved in the update process, it's not too late to make your voice heard.

  • Outdoor Dining on Caledonia Street to Begin June 18

    A portion of Caledonia Street between Pine and Johnson streets will be closed for outdoor dining during business hours Thursday through Sunday as part of a pilot project that will begin on Thursday, June 18.

  • New County Guidelines Allow Indoor Retail and Home Cleaning

    Indoor retail sales and personal cleaning services are allowed to proceed starting June 12 under the newest Marin County Public Health guidelines, provided that restrictions are in place to help mitigate the spread of COVID-19.
