Planning Division staff provide support to the boards and commissions listed below. Planning staff review and analyze applications for various permits, including design review permits, conditional use permits, sign permits, variances, and zoning permits. Staff also evaluate and determine the appropriate level of environmental review for current planning projects.
- Planning Commission: Five-member board that reviews applications for land use entitlements and design review as set forth in planning and zoning laws of the City and the state. The Planning Commission is currently also acting as the Trees and Views Committee.
- Historic Landmarks Board: Five-member board that reviews exterior renovation of historic structures and promotes the preservation of historic Sausalito sites, landmarks, documents, paintings, and objects.
- Trees and Views Committee: Inactive committee whose responsibilities are currently under the purview of the Planning Commission.
