About Outdoor Dining and Vending Agreements

  • Marin County Public Health relaxed its shelter-in-place order to allow outdoor dining and vending as of June 1, 2020
  • Public health guidelines for providing outdoor dining and outdoor retail may be found on the Marin Recovers website
  • In order to allow local restaurants and businesses to use public and private outdoor spaces to expand their operations and to resume operations in compliance with social distancing requirements, City Manager Adam Politzer has signed an executive order temporarily suspending certain regulations in the Sausalito Municipal Code; the executive order was ratified by the City Council on June 4
  • Under the order, restaurants and other businesses that enter into a temporary agreement with the City will be able to use outdoor spaces such as sidewalks and adjacent parking spaces for activities such as temporarily expanded outdoor dining

How to Submit an Agreement for Approval

  • Restaurants and retailers in Sausalito that are able to operate under the county guidelines and would like to offer outdoor dining or vending are requested to fill out a Temporary COVID-19 Activities and Encroachment Agreement and submit it for approval
  • City staff will be processing the forms with the highest priority
