FALL

Bocce by the Bay League

Join the Bocce by the Bay League for skilled players and teams who thrive in a socially competitive environment. Established in 2004, this league consistently reaches its 36-team capacity.

Teams play one game per week on Tuesday or Thursday for 11 weeks. Game times are 5:30, 6:15, and 7:00 p.m. Stay updated with the Bocce by the Bay League Schedule and Standings.

  • Returning Captain Registration (for returning captains for have played in recent seasons): Opens July 16th @ 9:00am - REGISTER HERE
  • NEW Teams to BBTB Registration (pending availability): Opens July 21st @ 9:00am- REGISTER HERE
  • Player Registration: Opens July 22 @ 9:00am - REGISTER HERE (Permission from the Team Captain is required)
  • Regular Season: Aug 19th- Oct 30th (11 Weeks)
  • Playoffs / Super Roll: Nov 1st (~10:00am - 3:00pm)

Monday Bocce Social League

Welcoming beginners and less competitive players who enjoy a social atmosphere with a touch of competition. The league accommodates up to 18 teams, and all teams make the playoffs!

Teams play one game per week on Mondays for 9 weeks. Game times are 5:30, 6:15, and 7:00 p.m. Check out the Social Bocce League Schedule and Standings

Wednesday Bocce Social League

Wednesday Bocce Social League is perfect for beginners and less competitive players who enjoy a social atmosphere with friendly competition. The league supports up to 18 teams, and all teams make the playoffs!

Teams play one game per week on Wednesdays for 9 weeks. Game times are 5:30, 6:15, and 7:00 p.m. Check out the Social Bocce League Schedule and Standings

Bocce League Rules

  • Here is the updated rules for 2025: CLICK HERE FOR THE FULL RULES 

  • All teams must have a minimum team roster of 5 players and a maximum of 8

  • The top teams from each division advance to the playoffs to determine the finalists, who compete in an exciting league championship, the "Super Roll"

  • The final playoff games and the "Super Roll" take place on a Saturday (date tentative) of the season with the top teams from each division. 

  • Teams will need a minimum of 4 players to compete in the playoffs and Super Roll. 

  • Dates and times will be provided.
  • Sausalito Residents can borrow Bocce Balls from the Library of Things
  • Type of Balls:  Balls can be ordered from Playaboule.
    • Dimensions: 107mm (4.25" dia) 920gm (approx 2.1lbs), Pallina is 50mm (2" dia).  
  • Please be patient and be respectful to each other. Be kind. Be understanding.

  • Interested in joining but do not have a team? Email Recreation@sausalito.gov to be put on a free agent list.

Game Cancellations due to weather:

Notifications will be emailed to all registered players before 3 p.m. the day of the game unless there are sudden weather changes. Games will be canceled if there are puddles on the court, otherwise deemed unplayable, or if the weather poses a risk to participants. Teams that want to opt out of playing in the rain can do so if the other team agrees to reschedule the game on their own time. Otherwise, it’s a forfeit.

About the Adult Bocce Leagues

  • The Sausalito Bocce League started in 2004 with 2 seasons, 8 teams and 1 court
  • We've since expanded to 2 leagues, 3 seasons, 54 teams and 3 courts
  • All games are played at Dunphy Park
  • League Fees: The cost is $40 per player (Resident); $45 per player (non-resident)
  • No player may play in both leagues
