Wristbands allow you to vote for your favorite Chili in the People's Choice category.
Musical entertainment will be on site.
The Volunteers in Public Safety (VIPS) will also be onsite cooking delicious hot dogs for non-chili enthusiasts.
Dogs are welcome.

All chili must be made on-site.
Ingredients may be prepared prior to the cook-off and be put together at the event. Beans may be presoaked, onions chopped, garlic pressed, etc. but NO COOKING.
Chili must be ready to serve at 12:00 p.m. SHARP and NOT before. Please plan accordingly and start cooking in time to have your chili ready to taste at noon.
You must prepare at least 10 gallons of chili. Although we do recommend 15 gallons. Judging will end for the People’s Choice once a boot runs out of chili, or at 2:30, whichever comes first. (The secret is to fill your tasting cups halfway – that way your chili lasts longer.)
We will provide you with compostable serving cups and spoons.
People's Choice: All participants will purchase a tasting bracelet and in doing so will receive "voting tokens." They will use these tokens to vote for their favorite chili. Each booth will receive a token bucket to collect tokens in.
Judges Choice: a panel of judges will be tasting and judging your chili. Chili for the Judge’s tasting will be collected at 1:00pm
Best Booth/Ambiance: This award goes to the booth with the best decorations, set-up, costumes, and ambiance in keeping with this year's theme, Marinship 75 Mess Hall. This will be decided by a secret mystery judge.
People's Choice voting ends at 3:00 p.m. or when you run out of chili.
Judges' chili will be picked up at 12:45 p.m.; you will be provided cups for the judges.
Chef Registration is open from now until Wednesday, September 20. Fill out the form below to register. Chefs who register before Monday, August 28 get their name printed on the 2017 Chili Cook Off Apron and get 2 aprons, plus two Chili Cook Off participant ribbons
Chef Check in opens on Sept. 23 at 7:00 am. Once you check in you will receive your booth number and a staff member will direct you to your 10' x 10' booth space so you can begin set up. Check in closes at 8:00 am, please plan on arriving before check in closes.
Contestants will bring their own materials, supplies, pots, stoves, utensils, tables and cooking apparatus. There is NO electricity available for a heat source.
A limited number of pop-up tents and 6' tables are available for rent. These are available to rent beginning August 7 at 9:00 a.m. by calling (415) 289-4152.
Chef Meeting on Tuesday, September 12 at 6:30 p.m. in the Game Room at City Hall.
