New Caledonia District Employee Parking Permits Now Available

The City of Sausalito is excited to announce new parking options for employees working in the Caledonia Street District. These permits provide convenient, affordable access to parking while helping free up valuable on-street spaces for customers and visitors.

Where Can Employees Park?

The program designates 22 dedicated employee parking spaces in the upper paved portion of Municipal Parking Lot #5 (located at Bridgeway and Locust Street)

  • Only vehicles displaying a valid L Permit or a daily employee parking permit via Park Mobile may park in this area at any time.
  • Employees with a monthly, quarterly, or annual L Permit may also park in any space in Lot 5.
  • Additional daily employee parking is also available in Municipal Parking Lot #4.

Rates & Permit Options

We now offer flexible pricing to meet the needs of all employees:

  • Daily Employee Parking Permit – $5/day (via ParkMobile) Valid for lot 4 or 5.
  • Employee L Permit (Lot #5 only)
    • Monthly: $50
    • Quarterly: $150
    • Annual: $600

How to Get Your Permit

  • Submit a completed application along with the required documents to parking@sausalito.gov
  • Indicate which flexible permit you prefer: daily, monthly, quarterly, or annual.
  • Hardcopy application/documents may be dropped off or mailed into the Sausalito Police Station, located at 29 Caledonia Street, Sausalito, California 94965.
  • Payment may be made by check (mail or drop-off) or online via Square invoice (upon application approval).

Employee L Permit Parking Regulations

  • Permit Display Placement Requirements:
    • Monthly, Quarterly, and Annual Permits must be displayed from the driver's side of the front or rear-view mirror
    • Improperly displayed permits are considered invalid.
    • Vehicles with invalid and/or improperly displayed permits may be cited for overtime parking.
  • 72-Hour Restriction:
    • Displaying a valid parking permit does not exclude a vehicle form the 72-hour parking restriction enforced city-wide.
    • You must still move your vehicle every three days or it may be cited and/or towed.
