The Role of the Sustainability Commission

Meetings

  • The seven-member Sustainability Commission meets monthly on the second Thursday at 6:30 p.m. in the City Hall Conference Room at 420 Litho Street
  • Meeting times and agendas may be viewed on the meetings and agendas page for the Sustainability Commission

Membership

  • There are seven at-large commissioners
  • Commissioners must be Sausalito residents
  • Commissioners must be appointed by the City Council
  • Commissioners may not serve on any other appointed City board or committee, except for those positions specified by the municipal code
  • The City Council encourages residents to apply to serve on the Sustainability Commission; if interested, please fill out an application form
  • The term length is three years, with a maximum of two terms
  • A member may continue to serve after her or his term expires, until a new member is appointed

  • The City Council Liaison is Councilmember Susan Cleveland-Knowles

  • Greg Christie serves as the representative of the City's waste and recycling hauler, Bay Cities Refuse
